Noob Adventures in Mobile Marketing

I have decided to try to hand in the Mobile realm and have started this Follow Along to help keep me on track and gain valuable feedback.

A little background:

I have limited experience with affiliate marketing and have dabbled in various things, but never took it seriously enough to find success. I am currently in the US military and have decided that once I get out I want to pursue a venture in a completely opposite direction than the way I currently live. In other words, I want to see if I can get something going and learn as much as possible while I am still in so that I can enjoy the freedom of working for myself once I get out.

I am following the "14 Days To Master Mobile Marketing" guide posted here as well as some other resources from this forum and other sites.

What I have done so far

So far I have applied to the following ad networks: JumpTap, Admob, Leadbolt, Sitescout, and Tapit.

I have applied to the following CPA networks: Neverblue, OfferMobi, AffMob, and Kissmyads. I have also followed up with emails requesting to set up a time to talk in the hopes that this will help me to get accepted.

Goals and the Future:

Obviously I would like to be able to make a very comfortable living off of my efforts. Eventually I look forward to networking with others in this industry and developing long term and stable assets as many of the most successful people in this forum seem to have done. But for the short term I am focused on getting experience and learning.

If you have read this far then thanks. I should warn you, this Follow Along will probably be very slow paced. I do not have a lot of experience with some of the basic things such as setting up hosting and tracking, and building landing pages. There is also the fact that there will be periods of inactivity as I will be out in the field etc. I know this may be a serious hindrance to my success, but my main goal is to learn and prepare myself so that when the time comes I can do this full time. Despite this I am confident I can be successful and appreciate any feedback from you guys.

Update 2

Still waiting to get accepted to CPA Networks. I imagine I'll need to wait until Monday at least to hear from some of them. I have, however, signed up with Beyond Hosting for their starter VPS and am working to get that set up. For tracking I think I will be using MobAff Tracker.

All in all, not to much to update today, but I am itching to get started once I get access to Neverblue etc.

good luck. i've had good experiences with beyond hosting. their support team is great.
