New Mobile Mastermind/Accountability Group ("Launch, Launch, Launch")
Backstory
Thanks to this forum, I've gotten in a few mastermind groups full of solid guys. It's great to bounce ideas/questions/gripes/stories - no beef there. One of the guys coming back from a recent network meetup mentioned the higher-volume mobile guys work in teams though & that's what I need.
Yeah, I always have a decent pile of mobile campaigns that are profitable. I've had a few very nice "winners". I've learned a lot. But I'm still lone-wolfing & know I could be doing more in mobile.
Maybe you've been in one of these situations....
- Mobile should be a much stronger part of my portfolio
- Volume/total profit-wise mobile hasn't been enough to pull primary focus away from my other projects.
- With mobile being a relatively-speaking low $ return on my time, my attention towards mobile goes into peaks & valleys when I know consistency is key.
- I want to post follow-alongs, but I want to post specifics while having my campaign last longer than a day
And yeah, I've learned from experience there is no secret formula to mobile. No "double-secret traffic source" minus that little favorite each one of us have. Just consistent hard, smart work.
Solution
A mobile mastermind.... really an accountability group where we vow to not let it devolve into idle chit chat. 3 or at most 4 of us quit batting around theories and what-ifs & get after it by working together on a campaign until it's profitable or a known loser.
Rinse & repeat. Launch, launch, launch. We're just splitting the testing variables up between us to get profitable faster & keep inertia from setting in. Want to try push or bumblef#*@ network? Who cares - great. Let's just get the data. You show me yours & I show you mine. We keep each other accountable so everyone keeps up w/ proof of spend & results to analyze or they move on.
Requirements
This is for intermediate or higher mobile affiliates. You should be doing 5-figs/mo in AM overall - doesn't have to be all from mobile. You've got to know what you're doing in mobile though, and making some coin. Maybe you even already kick ass but lose focus about growing your portfolio of campaigns.
We'll all be learning from each other, but no time for basics - like asking for tips on a good tracker is would be a good way out of the group. You'll need $100/day test budget and should have the cashflow to scale when the group unearths gold. You'll also need a couple good reps so we quickly focus on strong offers.
So I don't waste your valuable time, make sure we have meshing schedules. I'm (GMT -5) and I'm shooting for sometime within 7am-5pm weekdays. If we have a really good set of guys, I can make evening chats (8pm-12am) if that's better for the group, too - As you'll see at the end of this post, I'm highly motivated.
How I see it working
I've tried something similar before but we got too cute/fancy with it and the group lost focus. This time we keep the group small with the express purpose of running a campaign together. I'm thinking 3 is probably best - we can start w/ perhaps 4 though since one will likely wash out due to whatever.
We'll start with a campaign as a group, each run it on a different source, or we all run on the same sources but each person take different targeting - we'll iron that out later, but the point is we hop on skype each day/every other day or whatever and share everything. Creatives/landers going in & critique each others'. We share screenshots of the test campaign data & draw some conclusions & action items.
Yeah, with 3 or 4 guys on the same campaign that cuts down on the total take, but a hot offer always has room. More importantly, we keep launching new campaigns. Everyone in this group has their own money-makers anyway - this is just for test campaigns to keep us sharp/growing.
What to run
I'm open to anything but adult. I suggest we stick with mainstream WAP offers like pin submits/one-click/non-market apps/etc so we hit the ground running fast. I could be open to dating or sweeps as a group since I have experience in both, but recommend waiting on that until we get used to working w/ each other - extra layer of complications.

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm highly motivated & have experience to add to a group. Maybe this first go at it will work & maybe it won't - let's at least run it into the ground and find out.
- I'm at that point where I either need to make more per hour spent on mobile or put that time back into my other projects.
- Oh yeah... I'm getting divorced and my wife is probably going to take me for about $200k by the time it's all said and done. It could have been much worse, but I'm still pissed - use my pain for your profits.

Awesome structured mastermind concept! I think keeping it a bit more structured could really work out well since you pre evaluating the group. I'd join but i'm not committed enough at the moment to mass campaign it up. Soontimes
Good idea , a solid group can help a lot with motivation and keeping everyone accountable.
After having some big success on mobile about a year ago I took a break to focus on other niches that were brining more money.
In the last 2 months I've been back into it with decent success and would be happy to join the group.
This is exactly the group I would like to join if there is still room. I've been in a few before, besides one solid group, the others where too crowded, and more of a chit chat group than a motivated goal structured group.
I'm only focussing on mobile, I just haven't broke through the higher xx.xxx monthly mark yet. This seems like a great opportunity to share knowlegde and get to that next level together. I'll sent you a PM

Damn if I wasn't about to take 3 weeks off to travel on holiday around Europe I would be all over this. Been focusing on mobile for a while and seeing some great results but really need the extra motivation to really scale it up to new levels..... You're talking my kind of language here!
