Ok so I kinda happened upon this cool little site..... http://userfly.com
Basicly its a screen recorder and for a dirtcheap amount of money (they do have a free version)
You can watch people on your lp.....
Ya you read that right.....it records excatly how they navigate your page what they click on and how long they are there for.....
but it goes beyond that as they also record refererer, IP....so in theory you could match it up with your p202 stats
Its really damn cool....I just watched a ad network reviewer naviagate my page....
what does that tell me? well excalty what there concerns are in regards to your page...
Ever wonder what a FB reviewer does on your page? Well guess what now you know...
So not only will this help you in realizing why your page sucks and you can see objections and what people do on your page.....but you can get all evil with it to design around reviewer flags and issues....
all you need to do is add a few lines of code to the head tags of your page and that's it....
pretty damn simple......
free accounts get you 10 views
25/month gets you 1000
unlimited domains on all accounts and you can turn it on/off from an easy interface on there website.....you don't have to remove the code from the page....
you can also block out your IP so it wont record you and seemingly only logs uniques
so you don't pay twice for the same visitor
So give it a try...its free for the first ten views
when you say 25/ month and you get a 1000.. is that daily or monthly?
$25 a month for unlimited domains is pretty sweet i'll have to check that out more in depth.. anyone who has ever had a great idea and just can't get it to convert this type of tool would give great insight as to why and what the users are doing.. good find.
Sounds a lot like Clicktale which is what I use, helped me a lot with presell pages, and in fact my most profitable advertorial came thanks to learning a number of things by watching actual visitor videos. You learn where they click, where they get bored. I think they have a free version with a few hundred vids as well.
Does it summarize the paths like on average? No way does it makes sense to watch every user's click paths/ mouse movements lol!
I've been using crazyegg.com. Basically it gives you heat maps to see where people scroll and click. It gives good data but is not real time sessions.
I'll be checking out userfly!
Yep i think clicktale and crazyegg do this with couple more features, it's also really handy to see what people do in general so you can re-arrange your page fitting what the common user does once they land. I remember when clicktale first came out in beta i thought it was a hoax, just because the idea see so crazy/awesome.
Here is a FREE one http://www.labsmedia.com/clickheat/index.html
Installed and worked a treat - only thing I found was I surfed my landing page for 18secs, and it recognized that as a bounced visit, and you have to search for the recording as it doesn't show up in your timeline. I'm guessing for landers that most visitors won't be there for long.
Couldn't find any way to adjust the visit length, although one advantage, is it says it doesn't count a bounced visit as part of your allowed quota.
Damm those FB interns..... they've been disapproving my ads all day long... and they were 'safe' ads I loaded up to build up my approved/disapproved ratio....
So I used userfly on the landing page - it ran 0.7 seconds on the landing page, refreshed the page 3 times, and 72 ads got disapproved..... WTF...... Then they say the ad does not meet their dating requirements... I wrote this to be safe and just pause them....

It was a safe landing page that had been approved on 250 ads over the 2 days prior, it links to a dating site that has always got approved in the past, and the images where the safest pics you could use.....
They disapproved them today or yesterday, right? Friday night, saturday morning - you got a lazy reviewer. I notice a lot of the reviewers in that time frame just disqualify my ads. I think they're in a hurry to get home and hit the bars. Can't say I blame them but it would be nice if they would actually do their jobs.
I've found in the past that if you have a clean history on your account, an email to the facebook advertising support guys asking why specific ads weren't acceptable will get them to either 1) tell you whats wrong with them, if anything, so if you think they're legit but you missed something you didn't know about, now you know, or 2) admit there's nothing wrong and approve them. Last time I bothered to do this it took two weeks to get a reply (no shit) but the message I got back just said "The ads have been reviewed and are now live. Thank you for contacting us." and the ads came live. Unfortunately I no longer wanted to run that campaign, but it did bump up my approve/disapprove ratio.
You guys should look into open web analytics, they have DOM stream recording capabilities (basically what you have here), and it's all open source and free.
Stupidly simple to install on WP or standalone, you can check out a demo here.
