Mobile for the Win

I joined the forum 48 hours ago and I keep learning a lot. The first 24 hours I researched what works and learnt about the industry and yesterday posted this thread to help me pick what to do next: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...paying-markets

Now 24 hours later I have decided to go mobile as it best suits my plans. I love riding new trends and scattered markets. My decision was made easier after chatting with several affiliate managers. Many thanks to:
Arjan from MundoMedia
Steven from F5Media
Mo from A4D
Yousif from ProfitKingsMedia
Chad from Affiture

While I have 12+ years online business experience I have NO experience in mobile and I am learning fast.

During the "follow along" I am hoping to reach 50$/day profit within 2 weeks with at least 25% ROI.

Tools I use:
tracking http://tracker.mobaff.com/ - I will use a selfhosted tool later on but I want to get up and running asap
research: whatrunswhere.com

Offers:
Choosing from the best converting ones from the networks above.

AdNetworks:
I created accounts with Airpush, Admob, Sitescout, InMobi, AdiQuity. I plan to start with Airpush and Admob.

I will start by direct linking.

I am now researching and hoping to get my first campaign(s) live later today.

I will try to update this thread daily.

If any of the mobile experts wants to personally mentor me during this follow along, my Skype is adrian.nutiu

My first campaign is now waiting approval on Airpush and I have decided to run a 2nd campaigns on Tapit.

How long does approval takes on this 2 networks?

TapIt! takes about one day or less. Marty from TapIt is on STM so PM him to see if he can help you out.

Airpush also is pretty quick - at least a few months ago.

1 day update

I kept reading the STM mobile threads like crazy.

Thanks to The Angry Russian for helping me get the most out of mobaff tracker. It is great when starting out to not have to worry about setting up a self hosted tracker as well.

I setup 7 campaigns in my 1st day doing this.

one is already paused as the traffic source doesn't have enough country traffic for it. 2 are live and 4 are waiting approval. I have added a new traffic source MobFox and the 1 campaign I setup there is waiting approval.

Out of this campaigns there are 2 offers being promoted: one offer split among 3 ad networks and one offer in 3 separate countries on same ad network.

My main concern at this moment is not getting enough traffic. For the only offer that has now run a full 24 hours I barely managed to spend almost 1x the cpa(no conversion so far). I just added many more ad formats and hopefully the traffic will improve.

I am considering my next offers to test to be mobile adult dating but adding landers and even more traffic sources might spread me too thin. What is the best place to get started on mobile adult dating traffic? Is there any way to do adult dating without designing my own landers?

Would it be better to keep it to direct linking and go for some ringtone or game offers?

And thanks to unnamed affiliate manager who almost got me setup a non mobile campaign helping me with everything needed. It was a nice campaign but I want to give mobile a proper run first.

exoclick is one of the best places to start if you are new to adult dating

Are you doing any ppc to cpa in Romania?

2 days update

I got most of my campaigns approved from the days before but none of them generated any conversions - spent about 3-8x the cpa to each of them. Spent about 60$ so far and no conversions. Stopped them all and started fresh with new offers.

Thanks to Arjan from Mundo Media who was super helpful I built my first landing pages today. I setup 3 new mobile campaigns, 1 is already live on 3 ad networks and the other 2 I am waiting for lander approval from the advertiser.

As I was waiting for approvals... I made a web lander too(same niche as the mobile ones) and I will media buy for it.

Tomorrow I hopefully get my 1st conversions.

I have never tried PPC in Romania yet. But I saw many diet and MMO offers promoted on online news: Evenimentul zilei, Jurnalul, Libertatea. I did some research and they use http://www.etarget.eu/. This is a PPC/Media buying network for Central an Eastern Europe. But you know people from Romania don't use so much credit cards to buy online, and the payment is made through postal or courier. I bet that they make money, because the offers are the for months.

Ya it's crazy how many bizopps and diet ads are on FB these days. They approve just about everything for countries where most of the inventory remains unsold. Thanks for the tip Spartanu!

Day 3 update(I was away this weekend and everything was paused).

The good news is that I finally seen a conversion. It was actually 2 for $6.80 with a spend of around 50$. This was my 1st campaign with a lander and it's now stopped. I am waiting for landers approval for same offers in a different country with higher payouts. The main problem I encountered so far is that the bids seem very high even for "bad" countries.

My 1st web based campaign is now live with traffic going to it. Will update tomorrow about it.

Congrats on your first conversion!

In many ways, the first one's the hardest. Now you've just got to get more of them

Just one piece of advice if you see an obstacle think of ways to power through it instead of constantly looking for new directions.

Example ... prices too high... reach out to the network and find an account rep and plead, beg, over promise, do whatever it takes to get them to lower the min bids for you!

Any updates? Have you been getting some traction on some of your campaigns?
