Keyword-Based vs. Catch-All Domain Names

I've been using this catch-all name for awhile now for my PPC camps because it's easy to just add the niche in the subfolder and promote like that. For instance: greatoffers.com/niche

I've been wondering though if I'm hurting myself by doing this since visitors might want to see the niche in the root of the domain and something that actually sounds like a brand.

Have others done testing on this? Has anyone found that KW-based domain names work better than a catch-all with the KW in the subfolder?

I usually create niche/keyword subdomains on domain like for example com-s.info
This way it looks great and make sense for visitors:
AdultDating.com-s.info/index.html
WeightLoss.com-s.info/index.html

Heh, that's a neat trick!

I tend to use vertical-appropriate domains and just buy a bunch of them. .infos are so cheap that you could almost purchase one per angle...
