I just started testing mobile and wanted to get some input as to if this is a normal chain of click loss.
Tapit reporting 181 clicks
Mobaff reporting 143 clicks
Offermobi reporting 102 clicks
Is it normal to be losing out on 55-60% of clicks?
Any insight or just a yes/no would be greatly appreciated.
Hey, i'm seeing exactly the same on Tapit+Offermobi. Do you see that on app or web traffic campaign on tapit?
I run app traffic and i believe that this discrepancy has something to do with unintended clicks people do while using apps.
i had this initial test set on mobile web traffic
if you are using tracker there'll always be more click loss than direct linking, if the click loss# is too high try direct linking. of course there's risk of leaking carrier and handset data to network but if you are going to make 20 -30% more money then why not?
on some countries click loss is always bad no matter what you do
try direct linking on that same targeting and see how many clicks you lose
Yep def adding tracking increases the click loss due to the generally low speeds of mobile.
Couple ways to reduce it are :
1 - Direct Link
2 - Try getting a server in the country you are targeting.
3 - Upgrade your server
Click loss is always going to be an issue, some networks are worse than others.
What is interesting is sitescout clicks match up to our tracker well within the 5% I expect to see. Other platforms it can be greater like on Airpush.
Also... please define a click... each platform looks at it differently. For example some view a click as unique click, others as request being made, our tracker looks at clicks as successful redirects, etc
I changed my setup so I am going straight from Tapit to offermobi.
My numbers so far today with offermobi set on GMT
Tapit: 375 clicks
Offermobi: 270 clicks
getting a bit better but I guess that is as low as I can get it with tapit.
As for defining clicks, I am just going off how many clicks tapit said vs how many clicks offermobi said.
Thanks for the input everyone, I really appreciate it!
