A lot of time affiliate marketing things aren't always what they seem. ie: transferring 1 campaign to a similar traffic source doesn't work out as you'd expect, even though it seems like a no-brainer... BUT when it comes to mobile i find it to work quite well!
The big confusion is mobile when transferring a campaign from one traffic source to another...because of mediation you are probably buying the same traffic from different ad networks. The big publishers sell their traffic to all the top ad networks to make sure their fill rate is up and they get the best price.
Off course, some networks are more expensive than others and some are easier to work with than others.
i cant seem to maintain stuff once i get to the 5-10 range. i find its best to focus on the few that have the most potential for volume, in my case anyway.. if you're perfectly fine handling 20+ sources at a time then i say go for it! more traffic = more data
Do you think the following happens?
Some networks buys inventory from bigger networks and may compete with you on the same traffic source to serve you impressions that you already getting cheaper, while they take a margin on it from your budget.
We need to figure out those networks so we won't waste our time and money with them.
The 5-10 range is pure mayhem, but sometimes it has to be done.
Lots of hidden/new mobile traffic at shows/in magazines/ads.
Used to run 4-5 at at time , picking the top volume ones.
Now that I have full time employees I go for as many as I can ( as long as they have a positive ROI of course ).
Solution for me is automation & virtual assistant. I have part time job worker who collects all the data from all the networks/accounts every day. Then I run a script that goes over all that data and
builds excel with data per offer.
Try to keep it at 5 at a time anything more than that it usually becomes hard to manage. You can generally spend a pretty decent amount if you go after large traffic sources though. One problem I find is that I can have a winning campaign that will completely BOMB on a ton of other networks.
@Chize, weird mobile is one of the only types of traffic where i actually see campaigns work generally well across multiple sources
