Tracking confirmed affiliate sales? (5)
Hi guys,
I've got a few projects on the go at the moment alongside trying to successfully penetrate the world of CPA advertising. My question is slightly off topic and probably screams 'newbie' so apologies in advance.
I have a content website that I am having moderate success in, ranking for some fairly high traffic keywords. The aim of the website is to drive affiliate sales for products that have a very high unit cost (around $1500).
The only way I can see visitors returning to my site to buy the product through my link, once they have made this informed decision to buy the product, is by offering an incentive.
If I offer a gift voucher for every purchase made through my aff link, is it possible to track confirmed purchases so I know who is eligible for me to send a voucher to?
I was thinking of getting the visitor to email me with the order number of the purchase (which would also capture an email address for further marketing) and then I would reply with the voucher. However how can I make sure that the order number I receive was generated by a purchase through my link that will give me the commssion?
Hope these questions are understandable and thanks on advance for any replies.

I'd agree with peanut - the simplest approach here will almost certainly be to talk to the merchant or network, if you can do that.
