Dear all
Would appreciate if you can look into my problem and help me walk through this tracking issue.
I am about to start a offer , using this adsimilis offer as an example. I plan to run it on mobfox and track it using mobaff tracker.
Since this is a third party offer, i have followed the instruction as per the link below:
http://vimeo.com/channels/520864 (import offer from third party platform)
and i have this page to be filled in:

basically, these appeared to be quite technical to me and i am pretty lost.
Therefore, i have attached my affiliate page and some of the API's page (provided by the network and mobfox)..hope that any of you can guide me to input accordingly.

This is the API provided by mobfox: http://dev.mobfox.com/index.php?titl...n_Tracking_API
Thx for your help in advance.
Ah, yeah, learning a new tracking platform is always confusing!
In this case, I think it's actually simpler than it appears. The video you should follow is actually - what you're trying to create is just a Basic Offer.
To get the appropriate URL out of Adsimilis, follow the Stack That Money Offer URL Guide. Given you're using MobAff, follow that guide as if for Prosper, but use [click_id] where the tutorial tells you to use [[subid]].
That should get you up and running!
Let me know if that solves the problem or not! If not, we shall dig in further and figure out what's going on!
Hi Caurmen, i have read Angry russian's older post.
Does the following subid applies to all network/tracking software?
JT_CAMPAIGN: the name of the campaign responsible for the user’s click
JT_ADBUNDLE: the name of the ad bundle responsible for the user’s click
JT_KEYWORD: the category or keyword matched from the advertiser’s campaign
JT_REQID: the unique ID for the ad request
JT_HANDSET : the handset/device associated with the ad request
JT_PUBLISHER: the publisher ID associated with the ad request
JT_SITE: the site ID (for a given publisher) associated with the ad request
JT_QUERY: the search query passed by the publisher; if applicable
JT_OPERATOR: the carrier associated with the ad request
JT_TIMESTAMP: the time associated with the ad request
They will only pull it out if they have it right?
Or...different network have different terminology and i have to get it from AM?
Also, just out of curiosity, in relation to tracking, anything i need to do with the mobile ads party (say Mobfox), coz when i talked to mobfox rep earlier, i did mention about tracking and she pass me this
http://dev.mobfox.com/index.php?titl...n_Tracking_API
Do i need them?
Thx
Macros/tokens are values you can get the traffic source to dynamically add to your advert URL (and sometimes other things like ad text). There are no standards for this so their format is completely up to the traffic source. For instance, in all the ones you posted above the JT stands for JumpTap and these are for JumpTap only, they will not work elsewhere.
In all cases look for info on the actual platform. Most will have info on macros/tokens either in their help files or in popups/tips/notes near to where you are actually putting in your click URLs. In case of confusion email your traffic source. Tokens are typically enclosed by something like {} or [] etc. so that the platform recognizes them as being 'special'.
As for that link you posted, don't worry about that. I'd recommend using MobAffTracker which will sort out a lot of this tracking stuff for you (e.g. tracking conversions by postbacks via the tracking sources API).
Hi,
as for the mobafftracker, it is a must to add traffic channel?
I think i overlook and missed that earlier and i have run about 300+ clicks and yet none of it reflects on the tracker =x
We have MobFox already programmed into our platform.
Step 1. Create a custom offer using the links from Adsimillis and make sure to append &aff_sub=[subid]
Step2. Create a campaign with the offer you just created. In the campaign select MobFox as a traffic channel (we preload the macros for you).
Step3. Grab the link we generate for your campaign promotion. Use that with MobFox
I'm trying to make our system as simple as possible but you still need some understanding of tracking to get what we're trying to streamline.
Yes angry Russian
Appreciate that a lot. Learning in progress ! =)
