"Fake" dating websites... How does it work?

There are known sites like fortyplusingles that bring you to e.g. mate1... So far I assumed mate1 owned FPS, am I wrong?

Today I saw a site that would take you to mate1 or seniorpeoplemeet, etc depending on your age, income etc. The thing is that you pick a username on the first site and then you are already registered once you get to the real site! How does that work? How would I set up a site like that? This seems impossible to do with just an affiliate link... Do they have special arrangements with the offers?

Thanks!

It's a white label and some offers will let you pre-pop the form. Or, if you have a good relationship with your network or advertiser you can get posting docs to post leads into their system.

Ask your network if they can do it.

If you're promoting on Google they'll probably banhammer you pretty quickly. But, for other sources it can work well.

Yup, some dating affiliate programs allow API posted leads. So you use your own form page and then post the data to the dating site, thus registering the lead with the site.

It's weird, I've been researching WhatRunsWhere trying to get some ideas for my dating campaigns on POF, and all the landing pages I've seen have a sign-up form and a brand. No simple landing pages like you see on POF and the Adult ads.

Is that what more experienced affiliates do once they want to grow their business?

It's one of the routes people take. There are advantages and disadvantages to the approach - it's more work and more risk, but potentially more profit, and of course the chance to create your own niche offer.
