Lander CTR in United States

Hey Guys,

I am currently testing several Adult offers on EXO in the United States. My banner CTR ranges from 0.30-0.45 which from what I understand is relatively decent. The problem I am having is with the lander CTR, currently struggling to break 0.15%. I tested over 10 landers already, and none of them seem to perform well. The weird thing is that the same lander style performs fine in other countries. Not sure why they are tanking in the US. Hope someone can shine some light on this mess..

Thanks!

Woah woah, 0.15% CTR or 1.5% or 15% CTR? 0.15% meaning 1 in every ~670 visitors is clicking through, because if that was the case I'm sure you would have already bled through your ears on Exo and probably stopped the traffic long ago?

Sorry, haha 15% not 0.15% .. still stuck on Facebook's metrics.

they click on the ads, and see the lander similar to what they have seen 1000 times before. Maybe that is the reason.

i doubt there is a new idea under the sun especially in adult, rules lander esp has been done to death. Ive had similar issues with TJ traffic in UK.

For how flogged the rules angle is it still works. You just have to present it to the user in new, more persuasive ways.

There are new angles out there being tested. Location stuff works well if you're running mobile. Lots of new angles to test there.

EDIT: I have just seen this (sorry I have just joined) - http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...n-Google-Maps/. There are many angles inside that angle that work really well.

Try focusing on a single fetish and adapting your rules LP to qualify the user for that fetish.

If you're targeting foot lovers, the rules should filter out non-foot lovers. If you're targeting BBW lovers, the rules should filter out guys who like slim women. Use the same psychology that every other affiliate is using, but on a tighter angle.

One fetish that has already been beaten to death in the US is Milfs, but there are plenty of others.

I tried this recently and saw really good results with the 'Indian women' angle in the UK. You'd think that your banner CTR would suffer by restricting your market. But what's a 0.5% CTR anyway? If 20% of the market is Indian and not used to seeing ads plastered with Indian women, then you're probably going to maintain your CTR just by providing something different to blind eyes. And the landing page CTR will be much higher if you're selling that angle hard.

good advice from finch as always, if you're just starting out in adult.. target niche's/fetish's directly, with corresponding banners/landers. Jumping right into adult with broad targeting will get you no where but broke, unless you're incredibly lucky or have some sort of edge against your competition. You're bidding against other advertisers that have their shit dialed in with months of data behind it, and most likely a higher payout on the same offer you're running.

btw my average landing page ctr on US adult is <5% and i make it work.

I've tried smaller fetishes without much luck at all, and it doesn't make sense. I still would recommend trying it though and seeing what happens

Even with angles somethings I've noticed is that people copy paste working banners from USA/CA to AU/UK etc not realising that we all don't ave similar terminology and/or the use of certain websites.

Tip: Aussies don't use craigslist, most won't even know what it is

we do however use gumtree

^ That would explain a lot!

"Better than Gumtree" is probably about to receive a workout!
