Hey there! Some members heard of me and had some contact to me since I've registered in here.
Thx for the always friendly answers and help I got.
I've read a lot about AM in the internet - but it's real: some of the best info I've found in here. Maybe it's because the people in here? ;-)
In the meantime since I am here now, I got into some networks (F5media and A4D) and registered for making some ads at POF. In order not to settle just one horse I've registered at some traffic networks like Juicyads, exoclick etc. - but I don't want to work with all at the same time, because they all want a min. budget and if I pay them all, I won't have money left to spend for campaigns.
So I want to start with split-budget like this: 100$ POF and 250 $ a traffic network (not sure which one I choose). In my eyes that's no bad idea, right?
My start should be ads from dating & adult niche.
Next step I have to do is set up a server for the analytics - I'll take prosper202 at the beginning, maybe the business gets lucrative and I can change to CPVlab in future. But first of all proper is my software and as I read in here, many top affiliates just using it. Maybe it's like MS Office and Open Office...
Ok, when the server is set up and got running I'm ready for my first campaign.
Oh - nearly forgot to set my targets, some of the necessariest things for my motivation:
First take one campaign running stable to get 25$.
If this is reached, I want to get up to 50$ - hope it's not too funny for many in here, because my 2nd step is the first target of the most in here. But lower target is easier to reach and my motivation stays. And I think I can learn better and faster when I reach easier goals as get frustrated from the beginning not reaching higher goals.
Maybe it's interesting for some other newbies and people who are in the situation like me and this thread is getting big, long and full of knowledge.
So then - get the party started :-)
Ouh: my english is to read and understand? I'll give my best and try not to use translation-help from Google or something else...
You won't go very far on POF with $100. I would stick with one traffic source if you have a limited budget
Well, maybe I'll take my money just into POF or another traffic source. I've thought splitting would be a good idea.
splitting that small amount of money is a terrible idea, it is very unlikely that you will hit success on pof in your first $100 spend and likewise for exo, also the platforms and offers are different. Stick to one thing at the start, esp with a limited budget.
Imo, forget about adult with a total budget of $350, no way you gonna get significant data. Let's say you just test 3 angles (creative styles) with 2 images each, makes 6 ads total. Given you test 2 LPs, you're effectively off for spending $29 per creative/LP combo without any offer testing. Given it's your first shots, I doubt you'll find a winning campaign right away, so if I had to make a call I'd go with POF for start instead of adult.
Thx for first responses. I had in mind that my written budget above is too low. I'll raise it up a little bit and concentrate on one thing for traffic.
I´m still alive, men
...
Started my first campaigns (dating) today and they are running since around 12 hrs. First statistics:
#1 targeting male, age: 47-55, UK
Impressions: 9.764
CTR: 0.041%
Clicks: 4
#2 targeting male, age: 41-46, UK
Impressions: 9.357
CTR: 0.053%
Clicks: 5
#3 targeting female, age: 41-46, UK
Impressions: 8.579
CTR: 0.0%
Clicks: 0
#4 targeting female, age: 47-55, UK
Impressions: 10.398
CTR: 0.077%
Clicks: 8
Summary: No Conversions till now - lost $16.38
All campaigns are linked to one offer.
Is it better to change running campaigns at POF or copy and change some details of the campaign? I mean: my #3 is a looser till now - so I maybe could change some settings and try if the changes will work?
Job #1 when you're starting is definitely to keep launching campaigns - and try very different things (within the traffic source and vertical you've chosen). It's very easy to end up launching what's basically the same campaign 20 times over. Try different offers, try LP vs direct, try different styles of LP, try different bids, try to make your creatives as different as possible (whilst still using spy tools to learn what's working for other people), and try different targeting and different locations.
But keep launching. That's the key.
As for changing your campaigns - if they're not working, make sure you're making significant changes. You don't have a huge budget, so you can't afford to waste it. I'd recommend just making changes to the campaigns you have, for simplicity's sake.
Hey, I´ve made my first money yesterday and today - I´m happy
...
Spent and lost some money again - but, hey: the first conversions are done!
Will have to get prosper running at my server to get more details the next days. But for myself, I´m happy about the first $´s I´ve made. Don´t think about the money I´ve lost for the litte $ I´ve got. I´m just learning and beginning...
Hey, you need to have a bigger adspend to properly cut targets and really see some results that you can work with. $100 won't cut it!
Sure, stackman. I also need more time for this. At the moment I have a lot of work at my normal job and I will marry in two month - that's also a lot of spending time in planning the last details.
But I'll stay and learn more about AM.
Yeah man, you definitely need to take on the advice of the previous posts. $100 in AM won't cut it, and even if you do land a profit, you're gonna have no money to keep running it as most networks will only pay you monthly with that amount of revenue.
AM you have to take seriously if you're going to make it happen, like any other business you would commit yourself entirely to it before you got started, which is a negative way of thinking so many new affiliates make is that they could just half ass but this is what leads to frustration and most likely quitting. Treat this like a proper business and be ready to put yourself in completely, I would highly suggest having at least $1000 to buy an education
