Mobile Adult Lander Questions

Ok so I have been running mobile adult offers for about 6 mths or so and im doing pretty good. I have pretty much been running direct with 1 offer and so far so good on quality. I am using all the same basic shit we all are using regarding rules landers etc... Of course i have my own variations and am always testing new colors, gifs, static images, and other variables.
Anyway I have a few questions for you advanced aff's....remember im running same offer on multiple sources.

I am running the same offer and might have 10 dif styles of lander and each style has multiple variations. So in essence i have 50+ landers i have made for this offer and still building. I notice that each source prefers a different lander. I am hoping to find the holy grail lander that works on all sources. Does that exist in mobile adult?

*Why do the different sources prefer different landers?

Also being that im using similar landers that are all about quality for advertiser. Some sources convert well but put out shit quality for the advertiser.

*Why does the quality vary so much between sources?

When i start testing a new source i start with say the 10 top landers from all sources and then narrow it down to 1 or 2 and expand with dif variations of those for the best roi.

*How Do you guys start testing new sources with experience on a particular offer?

One explanation, regardless of what source you're running, is HOW the traffic is driven to the source. Premium placements (such as TJ) have either a very solid reputation and get a LOT of organic (search engine) clicks, therefore the quality of the traffic is higher. Organic traffic is king in almost any niche, at least I'm yet to find somebody who didn't agree about this.

Due to this, depending on where the traffic comes from, behavior and demographics are completely different. Just imagine the following: source A gets a lot of traffic for 'mature dating' compared to source B is getting the majority of its traffic from 'free hookup for under 20'. Now imagine which demo will likely have higher quality.

There's a shitload of other variables involved, it's not only about organic rankings obviously, but basically they all follow the same patterns. Some sources buy untargeted traffic hence lower quality. Some sources, like the major porn tubes, receive a lot of 'natural' traffic and therefore are likely to haver higher quality. Some sources (the established ones) are popular among older people while fresh tubes / sources are probably more spread among young people. Therefore, they act different on creatives, offers and landers.

Although it's a different niche, let me give you this example: I was running gambling on a source that offer free video streaming. An average CPA was worth around $180 from that source. I ran exactly the same campaign on a buy placed on a gambling forum where the average CPA was worth around $320 for the advertiser. Now just think why - the free video streaming sites attracts a lot of people looking for free stuff while the buy was pretty much targetted for people looking exactly for what I advertised and were ready to spent way more money on this. Same applies to any niche, with adult in my opinion being dependent on demographics pretty much for both, different landers performing different and quality.

Yep, definitely, what fjk87 said.

In addition, you've got the "flow" between ad, lander and offer to consider. This can be as simple as matching colours making the user feel like there's less "friction" between the traffic source, your lander, and the offer. Obviously, different traffic sources look different and have different navigation, which affects which LPs convert better for them. There's a whole load of subtle psychology going on with this sort of thing - so much that there's an entire industry more-or-less devoted to it.

Have a read of sites like Unbounce's blog - they delve into optimisation for individual funnels from time to time.

Thanks and you know what it makes total sense. Im cool with testing my different variations for new sources. For what ever reason i thought i was looking for the 1 lander, creative, offer combo that would work on any source. I see there are many other variables that need to be considered and that holy grail lander probably doesn't exist. So i am completely content pushing forward the way i am. Thanks guys for the insight.
