Direct CPV (URL Tracking) with CPV Lab

For setting up tracking for Direct CPV (URL Tracking) with CPV Lab, what do I need to put for the following fields:

1. URL Append Token: &keyword=($query.url)
2. TS Hidden Token: &keyword=($query.url)
3. Keyword Token: keyword

Please check if my settings are correct. Thanks.

Watch out, the standard CPV Lab install has the old variables. You need to update them to the new ones. Here they are:

$esc.url($query.keyword) - Track the keyword that triggered your ad
${query.trafficProvider.key} - Track the traffic source that carried your ad
$esc.url($query.url) - URL that the visitor was on that triggered your ad to pop.
$esc.url($matched.categoryName) - Category that triggered your ad to pop

OK, so you need first to setup the Pre-Defined Source details for Direct CPV under Settings --> CPV Networks

You'll have 2 for directcpv, 1 for URLs and 1 for Keywords. I haven't tried capturing all of them in the same campaign but maybe you can. I only ever did URL campaigns so I never needed to capture all of the tokens.

So the setup for URLs would be:

Source: Direct CPV - URLs
Source ID: dcpvu
Keyword Token: keyword
URL Append: &keyword=$esc.url($query.url)

And the setup for Keywords would be:
Source: Direct CPV - KWs
Source ID: dcpvk
Keyword Token: keyword
URL Append: &keyword=$esc.url($query.keyword)

Here are examples of what your URL

Were you lucky with directcpv? Or you are jsut starting out? I remember contacting their support or doing work with them was pain in the ass.

Thank you liamtheterrier,

What about the TS Hidden Token? Is it the same as the Append Token?

Nope, I've had the same experience with DCPV as you have. Complete garbage and useless support.... I'm not even sure how they stay in business. I was looking to scale some other campaigns and found that the traffic converts here and there, but the volume sucks with the URLs and KWs that they allow you to add. I tried contacting them a few times to have them manually add high volume URLs to my campaign (even though I had $$$ in my account); all I got in return was one of their IPs checking my campaign URL for about a week, sometimes at odd hours. I gave up eventually..... Out of the few times that I have tried to scale some campaigns there, I haven't really had any positive experiences with them in the last few years. Needless to say I won't be going back......

I'm not sure exactly what that does, but you don't need that to track normal campaigns. DCPV uses a tracking system that is similar to CPV Marketplace and Ad.net; and I have tracked all 3 using the same setup with no issues. Good luck with DCPV!

Thanks again for your help. Yeah the support is very bad. They disapproved my first campaign because I updated the Destination URL (after i edited the token). I then sent an email with my explanation last night and this morning I noticed that the traffic was running but my Destination URL was the old ones. Burn my $30 budget.

I really got pissed off with them. I don't think I will work with them anymore. Please recommend some other ppv traffic sources.

Leadimpact for sure, and then TrafficVance later on. Don't even bother with the other ones.

I have Leadimpact, but I can't get in Traffic Vance.
