Update : MobAff Tracker and 1 Million Tracked Clicks Free

Hey STM'ers

Some of you know me, some of you don't. For those of you who don't, I'm an old timer of STM Forum who has posted over 7 years of performance marketing knowledge and gained over 1,750 thanks in the process.

Want to see my threads?

Please note if you want to read How to Start in Mobile Marketing you can get it here:

http://mobaff.com/training/white-papers/

I've been focusing on mobile for the past 3 years exclusively taking profits that my network and internal media buying generated and put it into the MobAff Tracker. The project was never meant to be "just another tracker" but was aiming to revolutionize performance marketing and put the power back into your hands, the affiliates.

Before I get into the features of our platform aimed at streamlining your campaign set up, analysis, and optimization let me tell you the things I always hated as an affiliate.

- Working with dozens of affiliate networks constantly battling for higher payouts
- Getting offers paused on me for "poor quality" with no explanation as to what caused the quality issue
- Working with off the shelf affiliate networks that don't really provide any tools to help scale my campaigns

This is where our MobAff Tracker comes in. It is going to be the first open affiliate network built from scratch to help affiliates and publishers. Every feature we build is to help you distribute offers quicker, analyze your data better, and optimize your traffic to yield the highest returns. We do not force you to run our offers and encourage you to run any advertiser or affiliate network you like. Once you start pushing volume our system will connect you with advertisers directly based on your traffic. Using the platform advertisers will be able to give you feedback on how to improve your quality and increase your payouts and caps. Instead of chasing the hot offers, the advertisers will be chasing you!

Take a look at how quickly you can set up a campaign in our system.

Some of our features:

- Pull offers using APIs
- Universal postback system
- Ad network macro tracking
- Drill down reporting
- Automatic detection ISP, Handset, Carrier, and more
- Post click redirects

We are giving away 1 million tracked clicks every month to any user who signs up.

To try our platform register, confirm your email for instant approval.

I'll be in LA this week for a conference but will check this thread for any questions. However, for support or bugs please use the support and ticket function so our coders can get to it faster.

1 million tracked clicks every month is huge for my current mobile-traffic standards, I'm wondering if I'm allowed to use this platform for non-mobile traffic too ?

06-05-2013 10:15 AM #5 dynamicsoul (Member)

Wow.. super easy to get a campaign set up with all the networks already in there!.. cooooool

06-05-2013 10:35 AM #6 caurmen (Administrator)

Looks very cool indeed! I was wondering what you were trailering yesterday. I'll be checking it out for sure.

Question.. any documentation on the conversions tokens set up? [subid] etc.. I have a good idea from using other tracking tools, just want to get it 100% correct before setting anything away..

06-05-2013 12:45 PM #8 The Angry Russian (Moderator)

@Dario
Many of our users have started using it beyond mobile. Obviously we focus on mobile as it is my belief that it will come to dominate other forms of marketing in the next few years as smart phones get better. In the future there will only be "screen marketing" rather than the distinction that exists now. Some of our users use it for Social campaigns and use our Redirect feature for demographics optimization. Others use it with PPV to segment out browsers. Obviously email works well too knowing the email was opened on the phone sending them to a mobile formatted offer or pay per call can increase value per click.

@dynamicsoul
Working on documentation, we are rolling out changes so fast it was hard to get it all in writing. Should have it available soon. For now just so you know our macros are all the hard brackets.

unique click ids - [click_id] OR [subid]
[carrier]
[handset]
[ip]
[creative]
etc

Test using wheregoes.com

06-05-2013 01:05 PM #9 dynamicsoul (Member)

So similar to say prosper.. just add &s1=[subid] etc on links and it will add unique identifier?

Alex is the best in the business. Everyone should get on this ASAP before he changes his mind about the million free clicks tracked. It costs money to track, and just for this it is an absolute NO BRAINER!!

06-05-2013 02:53 PM #11 pain2k (Veteran Member)

Interface is just wonderful and real PROFESSIONAL. Appreciate the clicks bro. How long is that 1 mil clicks/month for?

06-05-2013 02:56 PM #12 The Angry Russian (Moderator)

For as long as possible. The new infrastructure was built in a manner where our cost per user (1million clicks a month) isn't very high. Our goal is to get a lot of users and then pitch it to advertisers as a tracking and distribution channel in one. Basically an advertiser would log in run a report of the top users for the targeting they want and can send their offers directly to you the user. You can then decide if you want to run the offer or not or respond if you need better budget/payout. Basically the goal is cut the middle men (affiliate networks).

It's a no brainer! Get MobAff Tracker.

Alex and his team have built a winner!

Bawse then sir. I figured the cost wasn't very high with the backend. Thanks again.

gonna give it a shot too, I see you have a tutorial for adding HO networks into mobaff, what's the API domain for CAKE networks? I asked my AM and she doesn't know.

Also, is there some way to edit the central offers that it automatically pulls in (so you don't have to change the payout every time you create a new LP)? A couple networks mix currencies in their offers... some in Euros per lead and some in USD per lead. The payout for an offer I'm pushing is dynamically pulled and set to USD, even though the numerical value corresponds to a euro payout. Thanks again.

Edit: If anyone else experienced the same issue as me, I'm noticing on the typical survey --> rules LP landers, if you don't link to a straight '#' as your href, you end up losing the subid variable whenever the user clicks on the fake question answer for yes/no, which means when they click the final continue button, it'll give an error from mobaff.

06-05-2013 04:22 PM #16 The Angry Russian (Moderator)

@timtera

The api domain is usually just their tracking domain... or domain you log into

Right now we don't support currencies other than USD. You can update payouts using our postback URL, if you look in there we have a payout= placeholder. If the network you're working with has a token for that you can just update the value that way.

Yeah def check LPs to make sure it works, and you have to keep the hash clean and not append anything to or before it. Also with LPs we have a known bug you have to either use [subid] or [click_id] throughout the setup, if you combine the too the subid gets lost.

Please note we are rolling out changes and bug fixes multiple times a day. Remember to always clear cache and do a hard refresh first before assuming its a bug.

I've had MobAffTracker at the top of my list of tracking platforms to move toward for... a long time, have always liked the way you've built the platform. I think I just had an e-gasm.

The offer link I am given to use in my LP takes me to this page:

Any thoughts?

You did something wrong with your set up. One thing to remember if you have rules on your links, the link won't work unless you match that rule, so good rule of thumb is to always have one link/offer in a campaign as a "catch all" where there is no rules

is there anyway to make it work with TrafficJunky? Ive seen the custom traffic channel but I am a little lost at where to find things like my backlink and unique id. Thanks in advance.

You can go to Settings > Traffic Channels > +New Traffic Channel > Create Custom Channel.

06-08-2013 10:16 AM #26 britannia (Member)

Hey thanks for that but I'd already found that section I'm struggling with finding the back link and unique id. I'm not sure what I'm looking for in TJ

06-08-2013 10:29 PM #27 The Angry Russian (Moderator)

Not all networks support S2S tracking.

This tracker works well for POF... since POF has tokens for age etc you can use them to gather data and do drill down analysis easily.

Does f5media work with this? I put in all my details and it can't seem to pull the offers..

06-13-2013 03:04 AM #34 zeno (Administrator)

Any network that uses Cake should? Might just be some mistakes in the settings you put in.

06-13-2013 03:31 AM #35 trappedinabrowser (Member)

That's what I thought but I followed the same steps for abovealloffers (grabbed the aff id, api key and asked for domain api) and it worked perfectly for that. If anything, can anyone let me know what f5media's api domain is?

I had the same issue with F5 and was able to get it to work with other networks using Cake.

http://www.f5mlogin.com worked fine for me for the API domain.

Now as for the landing page and 404 error...

I know we need to do a better job with documentations, for now we have these videos https://vimeo.com/channels/520864

We're constantly rolling out changes which is why we haven't spent too much time with writing guides.

Anyway couple of things to note that are important.

1. When you pull in offers or make custom channels these are all templates. Once you create a campaign you can modify as needed any details, changing them in the setting/offers tab will not change info in the campaign. Reason we did this is in case you mess something up so it doesn't effect all your live campaigns.

2. When creating rules or any other changes to links, changes don't go into affect instantaneously, takes about 30 seconds for the cache to catch up.

3. Landing pages known bug... use [subid] instead of [click_id] throughout the whole process ... being fixed

4. When we roll out changes you may get kicked out or unable to login for a 1 - 5 mins or some of the modules can look screwy. Just wait a bit and use a hard refresh.

5. Reporting... still a few bugs. We worked VERY hard to make reporting as fast as possible. The biggest complaint we had was time out of reports during peaks of users running reports or when running huge data. We changed the whole infrastructure of how reports are pulled making them VERY fast, with that being said there are still a few bugs were ironing out. Please report any bugs so we can squash them as soon as we can.

6. If submitting a ticket PLEASE be as detailed as possible including what browser you're using, screen shots, detailed explanation. Some of the tickets we're getting are broken English and make no sense... those we will not be answering.

Lastly a lot of the issues are user error, just mess with the platform and you'll figure it out. We tried to design it where it is still as powerful as before, but much easier to pick up.

One more note why we don't track CPC costs. We buy a lot of CPM where the CPC are irrelevant, click discrepancy makes that metric obsolete, our goal is to increase speed of deployment and optimization not create extra work. We live by the motto launch, launch, launch, optimize, launch

Got f5 media to work, I used www.f5mlogin.com (look like it needed the www.) and had to delete the source then re-add. I notice that the column TRACKING DOMAIN (HASOFFERS) has false after I edited the source.

Is there a way to get your

1) Cost Per Action/aquisiton (CPA)
2) ROI

in Mobaff?

The only financial metrics i see are Revenue and EPC....

Hi Alex,

Very keen to try out the tracker but I'm having problems logging in after I've registered.

I get the confirmation email, click the link and it looks all good. However when I login in get "Invalid credentials" message. I have tried resetting password but the message appears again.

Have also created a support ticket in the system.

Thanks!
