Losing clicks on Jumptap (8)

Losing clicks on Jumptap

Hey, all. I'm seeing a 29% difference between what Jumptap is reporting for clicks I'm paying for and what Prosper 202 says I'm getting. Over that past 7 days, Jumptap says I've paid for 2,155 clicks and P202 says I got 1,531.

I'm paying $105/month for LiquidWeb's Storm VPS. I'm not sending that much traffic: about 17,000 clicks in the past week. Shouldn't this be enough?

I'm not seeing this difference with other traffic sources. For example, for LeadImpact I'm seeing in Prosper about 10% less traffic than LeadImpact is reporting. Of course, I'd like it to be 0%, but I don't know if that's possible.

Hmm, that doesn't sound like a Prosper problem to me. Is the 17k clicks a week over all your traffic sources being tracked on that server, or just Jumptap?

Jumptap has been a bit bad for me too lately. How long have you been running the campaigns? It's been pretty spot on in terms of their clicks vs mine but I do have some days that are pretty bad in terms of discrepancies.

caurmen - The 17k clicks a week are over all my traffic sources being tracked on that server.

chize - I've been running the campaigns for a couple of weeks.

Yeah, it feels like more of a Jumptap problem than anything else because that's where I'm seeing the biggest difference between traffic source and Prosper. And that 29% is the difference between me making money and losing money. Frustrating.

OK, I'd be very surprised if Prosper was having problems there, particularly on one traffic source and no others.

If you wanted to be absolutely certain you could clean your database, or at least optimise it, but frankly it sounds like a traffic source issue.

This may sound really obvious, but make sure you're viewing 'all' clicks not just the non-filtered out clicks. For some reason prosper seems to be over-filtering some of my mobile clicks. I was at 24% click loss and went down to 10% once I added filtered-out clicks into the mix. Just a thought

aeroian - Good call. Here's the stats for yesterday that I saw (this is a different Jumptap campaign than the one I was previously talking about, btw):

Affiliate network visits: 306
Prosper "Real Clicks" click outs: 323
Prosper "All Clicks" click outs: 422
Jumptap's reported clicks: 500

Now, if I look at real clicks, I'm only getting 65% of what Jumptap is reporting they're sending me. I get what you're saying about the over-filtering, but the real click number from Prosper is much closer to what the network is reporting which makes me think that's a more legit number.

I'm trying to get more into mobile and thought Jumptap was a good ad network to start with. Should I be trying something else? I just signed up for an account at LeadBolt.

I really like Leadbolt. As soon as you can, get in touch with your rep and hop on a phone call. They share some great tips about how to properly target for optimal traffic, as well as what offers are currently working on that source. Also if you ask nicely, they'll share the 'average bid' for the country you're targeting so you can up your volume even more.
