...it's all yours, man. I give up on trying to make that crap traffic profitable.
Have fun melting your server for little to no profits.
affiliate marketing is dead.
nearly every traffic source can be made profitable..maybe he bid that high to get rid of you? happens all the time.
otherwise keep on keeping on, this happens to everyone haha its just the AM game
This is more just a silly post to be honest.
I tried so hard to optimize those damn pop unders and, to be honest, my ROI on the same landing pages with a tiny presell of a banner ad is WAAAAY better than I've ever had with these plugrush popunders.
Someone is probably making money somewhere, but it's not me, and whoever it is...I doubt it's very much.
Man you should change your attitude a little bit. You got outbid? So what?
Lemme explain what is going to happen in your AM career:
- campaigns gonna die
- offers gonna scrub
- people will rip your shit
- people will outbid you
- you will experience problems with bot traffic, poor traffic etc.
- you'll get booted from offers
- in worst case you'll get ddos'd by competitors depending on the niches you're in (unlikely but can happen for sure)
That's all part of the business. Right now it seems you're taking that stuff very personal, do not do this. It's business, it's not a 9-5 job where everything's standard. Calm down, focus on what's working for you and just get used to it
Just read your follow along...
"-Plug Rush is awesome, end of story. Wish I'd have started there instead of going for ExoClick. Way less competition, decent quality and it's harder to get your campaigns swiped. I effing love it. Want to try pop unders but I'm gonna need a server upgrade first!!!"
"I also found Spain to be surprisingly awesome for dating offers. You know, that country that went bankrupt like 3 years ago. Who knew?
"-My plug rush campaigns are now so precise I can pretty much stand back and let them earn. They have reached a point where they have minimal ad decay and a crapload of optimization in terms of ads, angles, best performing traffic sources, etc. I have numerous campaigns that are delivering a 100-200 percent ROI, but it is being somewhat canceled out by other sources. "
These are your quotes. You pretty much gave away your traffic source (Plugrush popunders), Country (Spain), affiliate network (Adsimilis, probably running Casual Club).
Why would you reveal everything about your first profitable campaign on a forum with a few hundred competitors?. Of course someone's going to come in and jack your shit - it's like waving a piece of meat in front of a group of lions.
The guy might be able to make it offer work. He could be going direct and getting a higher payout, have a sick dedicated server, and he could be a pro at optimizing the landing pages.
Anyways stay positive. You made it work before, you can make it work again. It just think of it as a puzzle of combining the right traffic sources, offers, and landing pages. You've already done it once, you just have to keep trying. The next profitable campaign you have, keep it to yourself.
I believe in helping people and sharing information or else I wouldn't have my blog. But I'm not going to post information that's going to directly hurt my bottom line.
Btw, PlugRush brokers a lot of it's popunders from Exoclick. Try a RON campaign on Exo and do the same on PlugRush and compare. You'll be cheaper on Exo. Been there, done that :x.
I agree with scito here. A lot of Plugrush popunders are indeed brokered from Exoclick. And I kinda figured this out early last night.
Can some network rep or someone that has experience know how advertisers like this plugrush traffic? I ran a few days of traffic from popunders and I saw a SHIT TON of what I'm pretty sure was bot traffic.
BTW, I just got outbid on a campaign that was doing almost 150% ROI and I was running for about three weeks. It's the first time I've been consistently profitable and when I saw this guy come in and outbid me three times my current bid it felt like getting kicked in the gut. I learnt a couple of things:
1- Hide EVERYTHING. I wasn't cloaking my stuff properly. I may have given away my entire campaign to the advertiser / aff network. I could have squeezed at least some more weeks off this camp.
2- Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I now know this is going to happen again and I cannot think that things are gonna last forever.
I've been having a hard time expanding to other Geo's though and I'm not even sure how to scale and get to my current goal ($100 profit per day). I'm getting closer though!
First off, I am just venting. I think you guys are taking this a little too seriously.
Second, duly noted, I don't take affiliate marketing personally, I know the nature of the business and I still like it. Gotta keep looking for the next campaign cuz your current ones always have short lifespans.
Will keep working.
