Hey Guys,
Does anyone know how to setup a basic direct link campaign on CPVlab to track WAMCPC?
They have a simple method to track your campaigns, you just add in [CSID] as the variable to track the sources/placements on their "blind" network.
But I don't know where that variable would go when setting up a CPVlab direct link camp? Or if I should select an of the predefined sources, etc?
Thanks!
I don't use WAM CPC, but if you have a tracking parameter like [CSID] all you should need to do is set your keyword token to keyword and URL Append token to &keyword=[CSID].
Your tracking link should then look like this:
hxxp://www.trackinglink.com/base.php?c=25&key=317she2y26vw624&keyword=[CSID]
You also want to make sure when direct linking that Append SubID to Offer is selected and your offer link ends in something like &subid=, &sid=, or whatever the offer you are direct linking uses to track subIDs.
So essentially CPVLab will be passing an encrypted dynamic SubID that tracks the converting source/placement to the offer and assuming your offer can track SubIDs, you'll be able to figure out which placements/sources converted. A bit hard to explain I guess but if you have any questions it should be easy to clarify.
That helps a LOT!
But it's not sending the data through -- the [CSID] is supposed to change to a dynamic number based on the placement right ... and I'm trying to get it to land on my offer URL through direct linking, but my offer URL doesn't have a "subid=" type setup in the URL, it's run through nanacast so it looks like this:
SubIDs can be used with Link Campaigns. You must first create a Link Campaign and use the link provided for that specific link campaign before you can add a subID of your choice to the end of the Link Campaign. Here is the breakdown of a link campaign link with a custom tag (also known as "SubID"):
http://nanacast.com/vp/PRODUCT_ID/AF...ID/CUSTOM_TAG/
from: http://support.nanacast.com/index.ph...barticleid=240
so right now I have it setup like you said:
keyword token: keyword
URL append token: &keyword=[CSID]
And I have my offer URL in the above format:
http://nanacast.com/vp/PRODUCT_ID/AF...IGN_ID/nothing written here because this is where the Subid is supposed to drop
But now if I turn on pass subid to offer or pass target to offer -- neither one of those seems to be working?
All I see when I look at the campaign in CPVlab is clicks for the target [csid] and in nanacast it's just showing clicks and not showing any of the diff placements like it normally does.
For your info, before I used the same format http://nanacast.com/vp/PRODUCT_ID/AF...AIGN_ID/wamcpc[CSID] and if you clicked that link with just the [CSID] ending it did not work - but when it was in my ad within the WAMCPC network -- because it dynamically changes that [CSID] to a number (corresponding to the placement) it worked ...
So do I need:
http://nanacast.com/vp/PRODUCT_ID/AF...AIGN_ID/wamcpc[CSID] or something like that as my "offer URL" again and choose pass subid to offer?? gonna try that now ...
Am I doing something wrong?
OK, first question - in CPVLab, do you have the Nanacast URL set up as the offer URL? And you're putting the URL that CPVLab gives you as the Tracking URL into your WAMCPC, not the Nanacast URL?
Assuming that's the case - the Nanacast URL needs your CPVLab subid token in it, not the WAMCPC token. All you need to do to make sure that happens is to add the Nanacast URL to your Offer URL section as
http://nanacast.com/vp/PRODUCT_ID/AFFILIATE_ID/LINK_CAMPAIGN_ID/
