QUESTION: FB schizophrenia and how to deal with it
OK, so even though been at it for a while. Still FB will throw me a loop.
After submitting some ads for an offer I have been running for awhile. I woke up to find some of them dissapproved and some of the same ones and I mean exact same ones running still!
Disapproval was this nice vague one:
"The destination URL of your ad either violates Facebook's Advertising Guidelines or could not be reviewed. Before resubmitting it, please visit our Help Center for additional information and examples compliant with our Advertising Guidelines."
checked the URL is good and going through and also not banned (from what I can tell)
so, question is:
Should I create the same ads dissapproved again NOT copy (they wont allow that anyway) [they were doing well in conv and had low bids]
AND if so,
Do I put them in the same campaign or a new campaign name
AND
Does tracking link or destination domain ever affect any of the disapproval's (short of porn, drugs, gambling, etc.)
Thanks In Advance

I'd create the exact same ads in a NEW campaign, with a different name.
In this situation...
I often to best try and influence/trick the mind of the reviewers, will label my new campaign: "Winning XXXXXX Ads" or "Body Test Of Best XXXX Images"
So as to give the reviewer the notion, that these images have already been approved and run, in another campaign.
Thus, they'll be more likely to approve them here.
As well, if I know I'll have some borderline images...
I'll do the "Body Test" one, and put in like 3-5 variations of body test, and make 1 of them just ridiculous.
Giving those nazis the opportunity to excercise their dissaproval button lust.
All the while slipping in my winning images, with at least a few different body copies to put on pause (if they get dissaproved down the line after running).

If you feel your ad is totally sweet then resubmit. If you feel your ad is on the line, then submit it with a bunch of very very boring ads.
You will lose your mind trying to decrypt their disapproval messages.

Phoenix - I've been able to realize that when you re-submit your ads the same fb ad reviewers will be looking at them and they'll keep denying. Just wait a day or so, and change some of the wording.

great tips all around. thanks gang
well, to frag with fates I put the same ads in with the same everything [before i read the comments] BUT I did add the letter 'a' at the end of the sub-id and I did this midday... the most 'dangerous' FB submission time (IMHO)
5min later ad is approved, running, getting traffic AND conversions... WTF!!!???
in the last few days doing some experiments with CPC and CPM at various levels I am convinced FB is nuts, but it reminds me of this old vaudeville joke...
" where does an 800 lb insane gorilla with a whirly bird beanie sit?"
"ANYWHERE HE WANTS TO AND U BETTER TELL HIM THAT HIS HAT LOOKS GREAT!"
So, now I have a picture of a gorilla on my wall with cross-eyes and a beanie hat with a propeller titled: FACEBOOK ADS TEAM
I feel much better

also I can't stress enough keeping your approval ratio high.....it is an internal metric for the reviewer....

pretty much......i was running stuff thru a large corporate account at one point.....like very large...........anyways they had api access and they started to not allow aff camps anymore....
main reason was FB was complaining about there approval ratio was far to low to maintain api access....so they booted all the affs from the account......
also.....I have worked with very large FB agency that actually runs direct with some advertisers that we are all very familiar with....they run with multiple accounts one of the metrics they look at first when they start to have approval issues (esp for dating which they do run)......is the approval ratio......lower ratios raise internal flags at FB and cause more issues for approval....

My experience with facebook is if you have 99 boring ads and one racy ad that should never, ever get approved, the reviewer will get bored after, oh, 5 or 6 of the boring ads and mass approve the whole thing.
At that point you pause the 99 losers, run the winner, and hope you don't get too many complaints.

Arghhh. Just submitted a post and it all gotten erased
Why does the agency have multiple accounts?
As polarbacon said, the ratio is actually really important. Reason being was when I had my old accounts, I was being careless and my ratio was trash. I then started getting more stuff disapproved and I still kept submitting ads. After some time, I'm guessing a few fb reviewers looked at ratio and started checking all my campaigns and realized something wasn't right. Another reason might be because someone reported, but i don't think people do.
Polarbacon - After I talked with the interviewer and stuff, she told me that someone else will call me to go over some stuff. I then got this guy's email and he said that he would "like to hear more about your agency and get an idea of your objectives on Facebook." Kinda nervous since I didn't know I have to talk to someone else more about it. What should I tell him? And will the agency fb ads account also be at facebook.com/ads or is it another link?

ya don't worry same thing happened to me....just be calm and have something to show him if he asks......tell him that a client is working on a few game/apps and that you do some small local branding as well....I showed him a lp (lead gen) that I had put together and we discussed that.....I didn't act like I knew everything....I kinda said I had "ignored" FB long enough and needed to expand my reach from search/display....
