Mobile traffic / bids
Hi,
If you are getting traffic on sources like say ex. Leadbolt ; is there any reason to bid higher? i mean will the quality vary or stay the same? Is there something called 'premium' traffic?

The quality MAY get better...but the real reason to raise your bids is volume.
Ad networks will satisfy the requirements of the advertiser with the higher bids before they give traffic to the guys with minimum CPC bids.

Pretty much depends on your CTR as well. Remember eCPM is a crucial factor especially on mobile when bidding CPC. A 0.3% CTR bidding 0.05 will likely make more than a 0.1% CTR with a 0.10 bid. Obviously bidding higher with the same creatives normally should and most likely will give you more traffic just as miket said. From what I know, certain pubs also deny to give impressions below a certain CPC on mobile.

This point is often overlooked so thanks for addressing it fjk87!
Not all networks do this overtly or intentionally but all traffic sources usually work this way naturally.
If you are constantly looking for the cheapest traffic you can find, then it is going to be just that: cheap traffic... apps or sites that will take ANY bid simply to make money. Probably not your best bet for quality traffic.
I'm not telling you how to bid either way. Just saw that excellent point and decided to expound upon it a little bit
Hunt for opportunities to purchase traffic for cheap (like when networks have excess traffic), grab a sample and then scale/optimize from there.
Remember, the more optimized your campaign's targeting, the smaller the amount of available traffic there will be and the higher the level of competition so bid accordingly (to answer the original question in the thread).

Thanks.
I have a 50 usd a day campaign that's in the green. Low bid and nice traffic flow. Ill try and double daily budget as starters.
