Hi guys,
I'm seeing discrepancy between number of clicks I see in TrafficFactory dashboard and in my prosper202. Like 2600 in TF and 1600 in prosper. Prosper installed on pretty fast dedicated server.
Anyone had such issues with TF?
What should i do in this situation?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.
Am I understanding this correctly that you're getting more clicks from the traffic source than in your tracking? First thing to do is check timezones / dates and make sure that prosper and TF are lined up accordingly, otherwise that could explain the discrepancy. If you're running CPC (not sure if they have this), then that's definitely an issue. If it's CPM though, doesn't really matter if the traffic source is reporting more clicks than your tracking is showing - would make sure your server that's hosting the tracking is able to handle the volume possibly though that seems unlikely unless you're doing massive volume.
Experienced the same with Exo, could be a duplicate clicks issue not being shown on your tracker ? Otherwise, just take it, as long as it's not upside down, there's no biggie!
try doing a direct link with the network then see.. also what about your frequency caps?
There is no frequency caps on TrafFactory as soon as its cpc platform.
Direct link is good idea btw. Thanks.
I see the same with all traffic sources. It's the norm for me to see at least a 20% difference between traffic source and P202 reported clicks.
I don't have any click skimming code on the LP or anything.
I tried moving the JS tracking code to the top of the page to see if it made a difference, but I still keep seeing high click loss.
It sucks because when you are struggling to make a campaign profitable , that high click loss can make a difference.
I'm doing a test with a different server, let's see how that works.
Also worth trying the new STM Mobile Tracker if you're seeing click loss with P202 - it uses a different tracking system which, in many cases, will minimise click loss.
If you're suffering click loss with P202, it's also definitely worth doing a load test to see if your database is just overloaded, and if it is, doing some database optimisation work.

Ah yes Caurmen saves the day! I was just gonna suggest that. I am gonna install the STM Mobile tracker to run a test. I was actually looking around the code to rip out the DB lookups (maybe makes the tracker even faster) so you don't need the Maxmind DB to install but I don't really have the time right now. When you are counting pennies , those $25 for the DB count hehe...
