Question about media buy and pre payment? (5)
So i went ahead and sent an initial pre payment of a few thousand dollars to start serving my ads with a advertising network. They sent me an IO and I made sure it had an out clause and a few basic things.
I was somewhat profitable so I let it run for quite a few days and was just breaking even. I ended up forgetting about it and checked my stats with the advertising network, and they show inside their stats that I spent over 10 thousand so far.
Yet I only pre paid a few thousand? Im sure they are going to end up charging me for this or sending me an invoice, but I set my cpc inside my tracker as much lower than what it actually ended up being so id definitely be in the red by a few thousand if i go ahead and pay the debt.
I feel like this was somewhat unfair and that I wasnt aware that i could go past my budgt? I assumed the campaign would just end as i was out of funds? Whats your take on this and am i protected if I dont pay the invoice?

Your IO should cover you. What does it say about budget?
The purpose of an IO is to state exactly what you are buying.

With an IO you really need to communicate with your account manager on a daily basis - at least in the first week or so.
If its an open IO I never take my eye off the ball. You can get burned really quickly
Yeah i did communicate with him at first and everything was fine so i let it run a bit. But the IO does state what my budget is for the campaign, so typically who owes for over spend on the account? Someone like me or the network?
But regardless highly doubt they will go after me legally so more than likely I wont pay it.
