Wordpress for paid traffic...any issues?

I have a giant festering pile of wordpress plugins and themes but I've heard wordpress is no good if you're running banner traffic.

My question is...do you use wordpress on banner traffic or ppc? Is it too slow or no? I just don't want to lose conversions from this but I am great with wordpress.

Insight is appreciated...

Do you mean using landers made in Wordpress? Pretty sure tonnes of Clickbank vendors for example use things like OptimizePress, don't think speed is necessarily an issue provided you have a properly optimised WP install/hosting.

Yes, of course.

I was actually thinking more advertorials.

And yes I have a properly optimized VPS for the job.
