First day of data analysis, think I messed up.

Hey guys,

so I started to get my feet wet in the adult dating vertical... and this is what I've done so far.

Getting set up was the most difficult part, but luckily I met a great friend on here who helped me out alot and cut my learning curve down... I believe I'm still making some mistakes on tracking since I'm a complete noob and a technical tard.

But anyway decided to dive in and set up a cpv lab campaign and used bbrock32's lander, and uploaded 2 scraped 300x250 to trafficjunkie. (I know this is not the way to go in AM & frowned upon, but I just wanted to learn the process of setting up a campaign first... this is not the long term plan).

Left the campaign on for 24 hours... got 366 impressions between two ads and only 1 click, no conversions.

I know this is not alot of data at all, but its enough to tell me I did something wrong, I think those things could be:

-The bidding system is not accurate, I bid 0.001 over the average bid, set to spend $25/day budget but only spent $0.018/day
-The geo target has too little traffic
-The site I used to send traffic might be bad for my geo target (more research needs to be done next time)

Any suggestions as to what I might have done wrong? Also, the cost we add in tracking we have to calculate it ourselves through our bidding correct?

Thanks for reading.

What country you targeting, you need to set spend to $2000, it's the way tj's algo works for more imp's..

I'm targeting a province in Canada. So if I set to $2000 thats when the impressions actually start to roll in?
Then i'd have to watch tracking like a hawk right? in case I actually blow $2000?

What about the bidding system? Do I have to bid over their average bid by 0.001 or how do things work over there?

Unless you're top bidding for a huge volume market which isn't the case here, the overspend will hardly crack 5-10% from my experience. I wouldn't target a province in Canada, might be volume is very thin there.

You don't need to be bidding the top bid, a couple of 0.001s lower should also get you impressions. I'd say it's more about your geo targetting in the campaign combined with a low daily budget that you're not getting any impressions.
