Traffic Junky Tokens

Hey Guys,

Anyone know where i can find an explanation of the tokens traffic junky supports?

I have looked at their site, i looked inside the campaign creation, i just dont see it...

I will be calling support, but if anyone has done it before your input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
H

So how do you track creatives, ads, etc?

I'm afraid you have to manually edit all the URLs to include whatever information you need. The quickest way to do this is to select all the ads and then "Change Target URL". Recently they also implemented a tracking pixel ("My Trackers" area), if you use it you can see what's the CPA of each ad easily, and even auto-optimize.

Allright, so what do you change the tracking URL to? I already point it to my CPVLab campaign link, what would i add for tracking creatives?

If i add a tracking pixel how do i do it? Do i take the HTML version and add it to my affiliate network?

Anyone? Bueller??

Where do i get the information i need? If there are no tokens, how do i access the AD ID, Ad Name, etc..

If you're using prosper - your finally link should look like this - http://yourdomain.com/us?t202id=1170...=us-ph-ntva-01
Where:
US - country United States
PH - Pornhub
NTVA - NTVA placement
01 - creative number (ID)

you should add this link manually to all your banners. each banner should contain unique link

Im using CPVLab.

Ahh, ok, so i just pass this stuff in manually, and CPVlab will create a column for it in the tracking and i just use that to know which creative its coming from...

Am i right?

Do i have to include a token in CPVlab for this?

Yep.

You need to create a different link for each ad.

So you ads have to have links like:
http://yourtrackingserver.com/asdkjh...blondeblowjob2
http://yourtrackingserver.com/asdkjh...blondeblowjob3
http://yourtrackingserver.com/asdkjh...unneteblowjob1

I'm in the exact same boat, and I have don really get what you guys are saying. Maybe I'm just an idiot.

So each ad we should have a different link for the same LP? so we should NOT be using traffic junky to upload 5 ads to the same LP because CPV lab won't be able to record how each ad is doing right?
so therefore we should be creating a different URL for the same LP for each different ad, and use all those different URLs in all seperate campaigns in TJ and CPVlab?

Your tracking URL gets generated. Let's say you've set your token to &keyword= , you find it at the very end of the URL. You take the same URL and MANUALLY edit the &keyword= to let's say &keyword=BANNER1 at the end. For the next banner, you take &keyword=BANNER2. BANNER1/BANNER2 is what CPVLab tracks as they 'keyword' and what it sorts your stats according to.

You use the same 'basic' URL for your lander but just edit the part after &keyword=. You can select URLs for each creative you upload into a campaign, therefore everything goes into one campaign.

http://yourtrackingserver.com/asdkjh...&keyword=banner1
http://yourtrackingserver.com/asdkjh...&keyword=banner2

If you're dealing with different placements I'd setup different campaigns to have an easier overview to see what's profitable and what's not and to adjust bids better.

What fjk87 said, but if your using traffic junky you also need to track site and placement, so click extra tokens in your cpvlab setup, and set your tokens to the following:-
Name URL Append Parameter
Traffic Source &tsource=TJ tsource
Site &site={src_hostname} site
AD Zone &adzone= adzone

Lemme write it down for you step by step to (hopefully) save you some headache / wasting time. In this example it's 1 placement only so you can get the idea how you should setup to track creatives in CPVLab:

1) Setup a new campaign in CPVLab
2) Upload all landers etc, edit landers & offers to your server and insert lander URLs / offer URLs in the fields.
3) Get your campaign link in CPVLab. For instance it looks like this: http://tracker.com/base.php?c=88&key...eyword=KEYWORD

4) Go to TJ, select a placement, setup your campaign there.
5) Bulk upload all creatives you have using http://tracker.com/base.php?c=88&key...eyword=KEYWORD as URL
6) Now go on to each creative and edit KEYWORD at the end of the URL to some name you can identify the banners with. For example if your creatives are named bigbutt1.gif, I'd replace KEYWORD with bigbutt1. After this, hit the green checkmark to save the changes. Do it for ALL creatives you upload.
7) When your campaign starts, you are able to see the stats seperated by creative. You know the placement you've chosen for this campaign in TJ, you know the creatives. Now you can sort everything you need, basically creative & LP combos and see what creative works on which LP, how it converts, etc. etc.

For an overview of cost / profit, you can either update the avg CPC taking it from TJ / calculating it or just use a different spreadsheet. As it's not CPC it won't be a 100% accurate, but in the end it comes down to spend / profit ( CPC / EPC ) to see if it's profitable or not.

Thanks for clearing that up fjk87, I had no idea that the token and keyword part was meant for tracking individual creatives! this is great!
When I saw "keyword" my mind just automatically thought of google adwords & ppc... got so confused. Thanks again!
