Will Do It Hard - Watch From Begining - Newbie Affiliate Day1

Hello I’m MaryAnne Sue and I’m going to have a go at affiliate marketing.
So actually I've done a bit of preparation... so really I'd call it more day 3 than day 1, but w/e *-*

For all practical purposes, I’d like the demonstration of this easy success to be the focus of this thread, not like any market specific tutorial.
Doing your own due diligence is the entrance fee to making money, so let’s stick with tactics mostly.

The methods I use should more or less work with dating products, dating sites, diet products, info products, membership sites, porn subscriptions, skin cream so on and so forth. That's what I want to learn.

Yes… same old niche, same old niche… but keep them money coming!

My easy success will be inspiring to you and if not, then you’ll get the benefit of learning/teaching through a process instead *-* cool.

So let’s get cracking…

Budget: $40/day
EPCPM = Earnings per Click Per Thousand = focus

Here is the daily task list I’ve decided upon…

• Set up at least 4 new creative and 1 new pre-sell page everyday – double conversion rate
• Start off testing 2 pre-sells at a time – double conversion rate
• Update this forum everyday exposing results and actions
• Add 1 or 2 creatives or landing pages to an existing campaign to improve CTR or CR
• Cleanup campaign – tighten to high performers
• Scale

Then further along

●Create 1 or 2 new campaigns for offers not promoted before
●Create a campaign with a new angle for an offer promoted before
●Scale profitable campaign

So Far All I Have Is:

1. Free tracking - Prosper202 http://prosper.tracking202.com/apps/
2. One domain – toremainhidden
3. 13 original (we all copy eachother but these are pretty much original) 300x250 ads
4. Account at TrafficJunky.net
5. Account at Affiliati Network
6. Some good swipe-files

Gotta go set up some pre-sell pages... brb

Tell me what you do know....

Sounds like a good formula.

Look forward to seeing you fail & learn.

Because without that you can't become good.

Okay so the last thread was posted two weeks ago~

Way too much time has passed until I have gotten to the point of being able to make new campaign everyday...
At least this time has been spent making pages - I have 8 pages to test... 4 designs with 2 different offers each.

So I know what to do and how to do it, but not how to do it specifically with the tracking I'm using (prosper202) and the ad network (traffic junky).
If anyone knows how to set up tracking with prosper or traffic with traffic junky... I could use some quick specific help. Also, I might just get on, spend some money and fuck shit up... since I can't wait any longer.

I'd recommend you to first check the hundreds if not thousands of documentations about prosper being available online. Personally I think that 40 day guide, although old, had some useful information in there, I don't remember tbh anymore, but it's worth to check...

You should explain your issues a little bit more and another tip is to browse through the adult section. There are so many brilliant follow alongs in which every step is outlined about tracking that I'm sure you should find your answer - though much rather you should understand how/what you're tracking than just c&p ing what others did in their setup.

Using the search function, that's a good short summary of that you gonna do:
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...hlight=prosper

Did you go through EVERYTHING that's listed / provided in here:
http://tracking202.com/videos/
http://tracking202.com/tutorials/

If so, post what's your problem / where you have questions / what's not working for you. Not just a plain 'I don't know how to track' - most of the guys in here are pretty helpful and will jump in helping out, but you have to do some first steps on your own.

Jumping in just to waste money... hmm... well how about you giving me 50% of what you're planning to spend just for the sake of it without a tracking setup? You'd actually save 50%.

Dont start without testing your tracking! I spent 2-300usd and realized i wasnt tracking what i needed to optimize my shit.... it was basically wasted money! Trust me on that.... I had to spend all over again to see data to know what to optimize...

If the support in the forum and elsewhere doesn't get you sorted out with Prosper, post here or PM me if it involves private info, and I'll get you set up and started!

After a full week of setting up 8 pages to test, all of which have been called "a good looking" campaigns by experienced affiliates...
I'd spent another week trying to get Prosper202(Tracking202) aligned with TrafficJunky in terms of the parameters to be passed forth and back. The support person I spoke with at TJ couldn't really help me much and suggested I just "try it out..." which sounded dumb to me.

UPDATE:
So I bought CPV Labs instead! Whohoo! I hope this serves as a good example to any newbies out there. Say it's just me, but I think that open source requires more tinkering than it's worth.
I've already used CPV before and I find it to be effective and easy to use.

I'll have my first campaign set up TODAY.

Now I'm at the step of setting up TrafficJunky as a traffic source in CPV Labs. https://www.dropbox.com/s/m3psfh54t7...2012-39-40.png
It's been hard to get a hold of someone at their support to find out what keyword tokens they use and any other optional parameters. I'll keep trying, but if anyone here knows, the quick tip would be much appreciated.

TJ doesnt provide tokens AFAIK so you gotta manage it on your own.... Luckily alot of folks helped me out! SO, AFAIK the only thing you get out of TJ is the "keyword" and you should replace that with your adbanner name so that you can track which ads are performing and which arent...

ie. my link out of CPVlab looks like this...

http://www.mytackingdomain.com/base.php?c=8&key=4f4a0b979d7633078daeecd6fc571d2d& keyword={keyword}

In TJ you would adjust it by hand for each ad banner...

NOTE i said for each adbanner! You cant just cut and paste it and make life easy, you have to change the "keyword" to the name of the ad...

ie. it would become a static link like this

http://www.mytackingdomain.com/base...._adbanner1.jpg
http://www.mytackingdomain.com/base...._adbanner2.jpg
http://www.mytackingdomain.com/base...._adbanner3.jpg

Traffic location_Country_adLocation_Bannername.jpg

etc, etc..

Yeah, thanks. From this thread I found out to use "&keyword=edit" and switch out the word "edit" with your banner name.
Same as your advice.

Does anyone know how to set up TJ with the most recent version of CPV Labs?
I'm not sure what to put as the "revenue parameter" I'm thinking I must have an old version or the most recent CPV user guide isn't updated with this information.

First off, i think you're getting your terms mixed up...

Adult Friend Finder (AFF) is not an Affiliate network... AFF is an offer within an affiliate network. You would put that in the offer section when you are creating a campaign.

TJ is also not an affiliate network its a traffic source..

Affiliate Network would be like: A4D or F5 Media, Ndemand, Convert2media, Mundomedia, Wolfstorm Media, etc.

Traffic Sources would be: TJ, Exoclick, TrafficForce, etc...

Offers would be: AFF, XXXBlackbook, XXXDating, MilfHookUp, etc... Within one of the aforementioned affiliate networks...

For revenue parameter i would just put "revenue" like the other affiliate network templates, i havent found a use for this parameter yet.

A.F.F. has their own affiliate network though...

Do you know if I can skip that part in CPV Labs?

The affiliate network part of CPVlab is unimportant. Its to allow you to track the network of the offer you're running. Shouldn't be a problem now as you're only working with one network!

Useful bit there thanks... but never just 1 network... even MS> Newbie knows that.
