Where is a newb to begin? (6)

Where is a newb to begin?

I read over the 40 day guide. I am leaning toward PPV.

In the guide it recommends using email/zip submits that are new to promote. Is this still viable today? I have been reading over the forum and one follow along has taken this route, but it has been recommended to change out to coreg. I also read that adult dating or mobile are better for a newb to be involved in for 2013.

Apparently half the email/zip submit offers bomb quick and the other half will be duds.

If email/zip submits are still a viable path, should I promote offers that are hot and converting on the networks? The guide states we should promote new offers, what is your view on this?

I want to ensure that I get off the best start possible, but I am a little confused as to where to actually begin my journey.

On a side note does the domain name we host our LP's on have any impact on the final conversion? Silly question?

I really appreciate any input here as I am keen as mustard to get the ball rolling...

Cheers!

I have been following RobRaves Journey, he has done a great job in providing a transparent journey thus far (day17). This is from Robraves thread - "I got 36 campaigns and only 3-5 got some conversions". So I am still curious to know if the method outlined in the 40 day guide (PPV) is still relevant for todays AM's.

I am starting to think that it maybe up to the individual to test, test and test some more to see if that type of traffic and offers work together. However the valued opinion of the senior forum members is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Honestly, when I first tried affiliate marketing I jumped directly into dating and that worked best for me. Huge audience, easy to optimize, easy to sell. There is a lot of competition but that shouldn't stop you.

Yeah I was initially thinking of hitting the dating vertical via POF, but then I read the 40 day guide provided and I was leaning toward PPV/email submits. I know I should choose a vertical, choose a traffic source and stick with it, but being a noob I am overwhelmed with info and scared to blow through my budget with no return, I mean the initial outlay for CPV lab, domain name, ssl, VPS, LP creator software and advertising deposit it can be quite daunting. I am aware of the fact there is a learning curve and a testing budget is required, however I want to get off to the best start possible and prevent myself from becoming disheartened after blowing through $1000 of my hard earned cash with no ROI.

I feel I should follow the 40 day guide to get started because it was composed by SUPER AFFILIATES and they know how to make money in AM, but there is conflicting info that throws me off jumping in via LI and PF. It would be sweet to see some more case studies by the top dogs on here that are current and making them cash today!
