Hey Guys,
I'm having a problem understanding geo-redirect and how to use it...
Say you have multiple LP's for each country/language....
LP1-en.html
LP1-fr.html
LP1-GR.html
Once i set it up geo-redirect on my server...
1) Where would i send my traffic to?
Would i send it to index.php which then decides which LP to show based on origin?
index.php{
IF(US){ LP1-en.html}
IF(FR){LP1-fr.html} etc...
2) Where would i point CPVlab in that case? Would my landing page link be in CPVLab? How does it track in this case?
3) Whats the best way to setup my outgoing links on my landing page? I see alot of people use go.php, but i dont really know what would go inside go.php.... If anyone can go into detail that would be great!
Thanks,
H
traffic source --> geoip redirect --> cpvlab tracking link
you will need to setup a campaign which inside specify your LP1-en.html, LP1-fr.html, LP1-GR.html, then cpvlab will give you a tracking link and some landing code , you need to put the landing code in your landing page and the cpvlab tracking link is the outgoing link from your geo redirect
geo redirect script is just redirect the traffic based on country code, thats it, nothing fancy, so dont get confused
Yeah, but what i dont get is that i have one link that rotates offers.... It has nothing to do with country... So, do i have to setup a campaign for each country? Bc, the way i was doing it now, is just setup a campaign for "dating"...
In cpvlab
At this point they are all in English/US...
Dating (Campaign) -> LP1/LP2/LP3 -> Offer1/Offer2/Offer3
I would use the CPVlab link (to trafficsource) in this case, bc it rotates all the LP and offers...
But, with Geo-redirect it wouldnt work this way, bc the landing pages would have no idea where the traffic is coming from...
If i use index.php and that knows that a visitor is for example from Germany and i use the CPVLab link (which has all my LP's for dating), how would that help? The CPVLab will just rotate LP's and offers... I'm guessing this means you have to create a campaign per language/country and not per vertical?
Dating (German) -> LP1Gr/LP2Gr/Lp3Gr -> Offer1Gr/Offer2Gr. etc -> CPVlinkGr (which would go into Index.php for IF(Gr)
Dating (Fr) -> LP1Fr/LP2Fr/Lp3Fr -> Offer1Fr/Offer2Fr. etc -> CPVLinkFr (which would go into Index.php for IF(Fr)
Sorry, but I still dont quite get it... I seem to still be thinking in one dimension/language...
You got it all confuse !! tracker in this case cpvlab will help you to track down your loser targets or whatever things you want to track and show you which one is the potential winner, before this happen, you need to setup correctly., which mean if your offer allow the countries US,UK,AU. you need to setup a campaign for each single country that you want to run.
so that means :
US campaign
US traffic source --> cpvlab tracking link
UK campaign
UK traffic source --< cpvlab tracking link
the geo redirect is no need in this case because i believe the traffic source only send specific country (you did configured it) traffic to your cpvlab link, you need to use geo redirect when the traffic is coming from all over country, for example : FB reviewer team
