Anyone here dabble in blackhat stuff, etc?

Just wondering if any of you guys dabble in generating traffic via blackhat methods... bots, fake profiles, chat rooms, etc.

I've done quite a bit of it for many years and can code up just about anything whether it's blackhat stuff or large scale automation systems. Desktop, web, database, socket programming, whatever it takes.

Anyone screw around with this?

Guess I'm asking because I've been slacking lately and am looking to network with some larger affiliates and maybe do something. I need a fire lit under my ass

A lot of affiliates I know got started out that way because you can generate startup funds easier, and realistically you can learn the basics of adcopy and affiliate marketing going that route too. Just gotta beware that most* networks frown upon it.

I started that way for my first 3 years in the business.
Story here - http://www.shoemoney.com/2008/10/21/...-jason-akatiff

Decide to shut it down and move on.

I can tell you that some of my very best affiliates are old blackhat guys. So you have a potentially very bright future should you decide to get into a paid traffic.

Good luck!

The dark arts is how I got my foot into this biz (FB viral apps) then I finally moved onto actually paid traffic and it's been history ever since! Although I can't lie I still dabble in the dark arts quite a bit

It's easy, free (mostly) money. Most people can't deny that.

Not paying any of your pubs is also free. Most people can't deny that.

ya, I hear some people got started by frauding Hydra on rebills using pre-paid credit cards. Seems once a frauder always a frauder.

Nice to see some people chime in. I've tried just about everything but did quite a bit with IM networks like yahoo/aim/msn/etc. It's fun, especially when you have a good angle. If you can make something relatively sophisticated then you're pretty safe from copycats.

I do like fiddling with paid traffic, but still need to sharpen up in that arena and get more disciplined with my attention span.

Got my start with CL. Got tired of not getting paid. Thought going legit was the answer, but white hat is as much of a bitch as black hat is.
