What is the meaning by traffic allowed display?

I am starting off trying to promote some dating offers and the traffic allow only show display and email. Does it mean I'm not allow to run PPV traffic?

Yeah , generally display means banners ( media buys traffic ).

sometimes its worth asking though (your AM)......depending on the network they may allow it on a case by case basis.....

Display can be a very broad definition. Sometimes campaigns labeled as "Display" can actually take social and PPV as well, so you always want to ask your AM. Like Daksneezian said, this way you also get to run offers that the lazy affiliates won't bother to ask about!

Contextual = Contextual
EMail = EMail
Social = Social
Display = Media Buying / Banners
