I'm looking to port over a campaign that has been working well for me from Trafficvance to Leadimpact. I took the top converting keywords from TV and ported to LI and scaled down the lander from 800x600 to 750x400. The campaign is spending $x,xxx / day on TV.
Aside from that, nothing has been changed. I set my budget to $200 and within 5 minutes spent the entire budget, with 4 clickthrus and 0 conversions - the same traffic volume on TV would have yielded 400 clickthrus and around 60 conversions.
My server is able to handle the volume so that's not an issue. The traffic is evenly distributed across the targets so there isn't a single keyword/url killing the spend.
Its been about 2 years since I've run campaigns on Leadimpact (which were successful at the time) so I'm trying to figure out whether quality has just dropped off or if its something else - the huge difference in stats almost looks like fraud but I'm guessing there would be more people complaining if LI had lots of fraud traffic(?)
Can anyone here running on Leadimpact weigh in on this? I'm not looking for any handouts regarding the campaign, just curious if there are any new issues or pitfalls that are unique to Leadimpact these days. Thanks in advance.
LI has huge volume and when I scale I prefer to set my budget per hour not per day.
Regarding the quality I don't think there are many bots because LI makes huge money on affiliates so they have to take care of their user base. One-two complaints from users and your LP will be disapproved even it was approved before! Also, comparing to MediaTraffic and DirectCPV LI has a better conversion rate in 95%.
the ctr seems a little off, but i still have campaigns that will only do well on one or the other. the traffic definitely behaves differently according to the niche.
my take on everything is that TV tends to be way more stable for me. this could be due to the fact that the rate at which LI's pops are allowed to show per user seems to be uncapped. This means someone can pop over your pop, which in competitive verticals can really damn annoying. I would suggest visiting your tracking link on a VPN with the LI pop bar installed to see if this is the case. Otherwise you can check out some spy tools and field some of the kws in your URL or page title. This might explain the CTR drop too. This can't really happen with TV as far as I know, the last time I heard they only allow 1 pop per hr per user or something.
ill admit back when i first started, my whole strategy revolved around this fact. i could essentially poach another aff's traffic. it didn't make alot of money for me and turned into pop wars. not a really sustainable thing, but alot of people still do it on LI from my recent testing.
you can also try just changing the domain and your title to not include any obvious kws that involve your vertical and see how that fares.
lastly, if you're using any fancy js or code, that could be screwing you up since each toolbar has their own set of limitations on all kinds of things. just install LI software on a VPN and you can really see what your pages looks like thru shitty IE on shitty XP in a shitty sandboxed pop-up.
god i hate LI. but shit man, sometimes it makes it rain (and currently does for me in some verticals). so don't lose hope yet
Appreciate the replies. Turns out it is the javascript messing things up - I cloned the page, but instead of using javascript to walk through the steps, made each a new page and stats shot up. Do any of you have a link to where I can get the LI Toolbar so I can see how my page is rendered? I know they are hotbar, but I couldn't find any install sites through that name. Thanks again.
I just started on LI a few days back with 1 of my campaign having 1410 views, 420 clicks and 7 conversions. So, I think and I hope LI is not serving fraud traffic. LOL.
Search for and install kangobox.
