Serious click loss issue
Hello,
I've been seeing some serious click loss between my traffic source (TJ,Exo) and what my Prosper202 install is reporting.
I've tried optimizing my LPs to get the best possible loading times, cleared the prosper DB of old clicks, etc but I am still seeing a click difference that some times is in the 40% plus range.
This is definitely affecting my campaigns because I am already struggling enough as it is without losing clicks.
Do you guys see anything like this? Is this normal with this type of traffic?
I am not sending huge amounts of traffic, I barely get over 300 clicks a day so my VPS should be able to handle this.

What web server are you using? If apache that might be a problem.
Also try putting prosper's code right after the opening <body> tag ( not </body> ).
The JS code is what tracks visitors , so if you put at the end of page it loads later and might not track users that close the page right away.

Yeah, both my tracking domain and the LP domain are using Apache. Gonna ask my host about moving to Nginx. I´m not pushing huge volumes of traffic but every bit of optimization should help.
Thanks for the JS tip. I always put it on the bottom before the </body> tag to help with page load times. Is this a situation where I have to decide between fast page load times but missing clicks on the tracker? I guess I would rather have faster load times though.
Would the STM mobile tracker help?

Why is Apache a problem? And what you recommend to use?

Apache is generally slower compared to nginx / litespeed.
With same hardware and with an out of the box config the laters will beat apache in speed 99% of times.

Well, the clicks that dont get tracked aren't lost since people still can click on page. They just won't show on prosper.
I suggest putting the js code right after the opening <body> tag since it won't slow down page loading anyway.

I thought that the page would stop rendering while it waits for the external JS files to load? Wouldn't that cause an increase in page load time?
Since it does not use JS for tracking, would using the STM mobile tracker help?

Yep that would help for sure.
