MaxCDN euro zones are down..

For anyone using MaxCDN, beware today their Amsterdam and London zones are practically not working.. I noticed checking my stats and seeing a huge loss on euro campaigns in the past hours. You'd think they'd redirect traffic to other zones that are working for the time being..

They've lost me as a customer, unbelievable that not even an email was sent.

Looking at Edgecast, and Rackspace CDN

.. but will probably go with Amazon CloudFront.

i have been trying to decide between Rackspace CDN and Amazon CloudFront, any reasons why you chose CloudFront?

I host zeropark.com as well as my tracking software on Amazon SES - never had an issue (over a year now). I'm assuming the same will go for CloudFront.

Here's a pretty neat comparison of CloudFront vs MaxCDN - http://www.cdnplanet.com/compare/cloudfront/maxcdn/

I do AM in Australia/Asia & LATAM so those POPs will be nice to have. In regards to RackSpace/Akamai - I'm still looking into it, will try to get some more info tonight and make a decision - CloudFront or RackSpace/Akamai - will let you know.

Yeah no worries, I was happy with MaxCDN for the 7 days that I tested it but what happened over the weekend is utterly unacceptable.

This company has one job, and that is to have my content available 24/7 .. if they can't do that, they don't have my business..

If you're wanting anything in Australasia/Oceania then yeah anyone using the Akamai POPs would be great. Pretty much every instance of something coming from a CDN in NZ for me has been Akamai hosted. Perhaps you could split test between multiple CDNs and use something like NewRelic to monitor page render speed? Could be a way to optimise CDNs on a geographic basis, since as far as I know the NewRelic data can show you real page render speed by the users.

Nyc, I went with RackSpace in the end - I couldn't resist access to the Akamai network.

From my basic tests, load times are blitz quick. Other than that support is great - it's ultra easy to setup and I hope to have all my LPs and content on there by the end of tomorrow.

Goodbye MaxCDN..

Please do let us know how you get on with the Rackspace CDN, guys! Lots of people looking at CDNs right now, it'd be interesting to have some more data points!
