My current package in beyondhosting is the starter vps package. I would like to upgrade it since I'm getting more traffic. I'm thinking vps1024.
I submit a ticket to BH. And they recommend me to install litespeed as well

No migration is necessary, it is an instant upgrade. We also recommend adding LiteSpeed web server to allow you take full advantage of the power of the VPS1024. LiteSpeed is $14 dollars monthly (plus an initial $10 installation fee), but it will allow your server to handle about 4x the number of connections over the standard Apache web server. Is this something you would be interested in?

i got litespeed on my server and on gtmetrix.com went from B grade 82% to A grade 94% with just the upgrade. not sure what kind of speed increases that is.
I have it on the VSP3072, deninitely helps with php.
I also recommend a cdn for landing pages.
If you don't want to spend a bunch of time optimizing your Apache configuration, I'd recommend an upgrade to LiteSpeed. It's definitely a better server out of the box.
With time and patience you can get Apache to run nearly as well as LiteSpeed, but it's not a super-fast process.
